Although this is not an originga family recipe, the adults in my family will use this recipe as a refrence each time they want to make a mojito. Except, in my family, we use many more limes!
Ingredients:
10 fresh mint leaves
Lime wedges
2 tablespoons of white sugar (optional)
Ice
1 1/2 ounces of white rum
1/2 cup of club soda
Steps:
Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler and crush to release mint oils and lime juice.
Add 2 more lime wedges (or as needed) and 2 tablespoons sugar (optional), and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture.
Fill the glass either almost to the top with ice or simply add a hanful of ice to your glass (depending on the size of your glass).
Pour in rum and fill the glass with club soda.
Stir, taste, and add more sugar/limes/rum if desired.
