This is an original family recipe that is a very traditional appetizer in Puerto Rico. We usually dip the cheese balls in mayo-ketchup. It always ends up delicious!
Ingredients:
1/2 pound of cheese, shredded (Gouda, Cheddar, or Swiss)
1 egg
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Bread or cracker crumbs
Vegetable oil
Steps:
In the small bowl of an electric mixture, blend the cheese, egg, and cornstarch at a high speed.
Take mixture by teaspoons, turn into balls, coat with crumbs and deep-fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.
Remove and drain on absorbent paper. Serve immediately.
